You know that feeling you get when you think about your business? That deep-in-your-gut, omg-I-was-meant-to-do-this feeling? If you ask me, it’s one of the BEST parts of being an entrepreneur.
But if you’re like most people I talk to, having the vision isn’t the problem. It’s turning that vision into something you can COMMUNICATE with your audience in a way that gets them excited to be a part of it. That’s the hard part.
But don’t let that fool you…it’s not that you aren’t cut out for this whole entrepreneurship thing. You just need to get clear on your overarching brand messaging. And I’ve got great news for you, my friend…that’s exactly what we’ll discuss on today’s episode of Amplified AF.
Hold up a minute! I wanted to introduce myself just in case it’s your first time here. I’m Kate — a conversion copywriting ninja who loves helping entrepreneurs like you find their voice, own their voice, and share their voice in this amazing online space. I’m so glad you’re here!
Quote of the Day: “If you want to look at creating a community that’s actually rallying behind your content and not just hitting the like button, then you’re going to have to have a cohesive brand messaging strategy.”
So let’s think for a minute about the entrepreneurs you look up to. You know they’ve got their core messaging that you can totally rally behind! They are masters in their own topics and themes, but if you pay attention, you’ll see that they all relate back to their overarching vision and how they choose to show up in their business.
The cool thing is, you can totally do it, too. All you need is 3 core ingredients:
Purpose, positioning, and packaging.
So let’s break those down a bit:
Your purpose is why you do what you do. It’s what makes you unique, with the values you hold and the stories you share that have formed your journey.
Your positioning boils down to who you are, who you help, and how you help them. The key to standing out in the massive online crowd is aligning your position with your purpose — that’s what makes YOU different from all the rest.
Your packaging is how YOU choose to show up online. What do you talk about? And where and when? How you’re communicating is what links it all together. But your packaging breaks down even further with your theme — what’s your rally cry? What do you share over and over? (For me, it’s that great copy starts with great messaging!)
So how do you zero in on YOUR 3 P’s? It’s easier than you think! Just ask yourself a few questions:
- Who am I?
- Why do I do what I do?
- Who do I want to help (and how do I help them)?
- How do I show up for my people?
That’s all it takes, my friend. When you get clear on these core ingredients you can start to create a cohesive brand messaging strategy. It will help you share your vision, talk about the things that light up your soul, and make sure your content ties back to your purpose and positioning.
So the next time you feel like you don’t know what to talk to your audience about, do a gut check and ask yourself, “do I have these 3 elements?” If not, define it so you can move forward with a purpose.
Remember…it’s up to you to share your message and share your light, because there are people who need to hear what you have to say.
