Here’s the rub: I work with a lot of amazing entrepreneurs inside my signature program, Copy That Converts, and within our copy agency. One of the things I hear time and time again is that their copy is always getting put on the back burner.

It’s like they get so focused on the launch itself that they forget there will be copy that goes along with it — until that moment comes when they desperately need it.

So the big question is: when is the right time to focus on your copy?

Well, the short answer is NOW. But if you tune in to this episode of Amplified AF, we’ll dive a little deeper into why you shouldn’t ignore your copy until the last minute, but why it’s crucial you nail down your messaging before you even write a single word.

Just in case it’s your first time here, please allow me to introduce myself! I’m Kate! I’m a conversion copywriting expert and messaging coach, whose passion is helping online experts get clear on their message so they can communicate it to their people.  I am so excited you’re here!

Quote of the day: “Learning how to communicate effectively with your audience is one of the most important things that you, as a business owner, can do. That’s what copywriting is.”

So let’s just cut to the chase here, shall we? Friend, you’ve got to stop waiting until the last minute to write your copy — it’s SO ineffective.

Why? Because when you’re desperately trying to just get it done, you’re just putting words  on a page (or worse, you’re staring at a blinking cursor). You’re not taking the time to actually think about what the key points are that you need to hit in order to move your audience into action.

And that’s the most important part! Because you can have THE best launch strategy and the most attention-grabbing ads, but if your copy is missing the mark it won’t land with your people (and that’s kind of the point, right?).

THAT is why your copy needs to come first.

Because here’s the thing: what your audience needs to hear is the driver for everything you do in your business. It’s the reason they choose to work with you because you have the solution they so desperately need. But you have to be able to communicate that to them.

And I know what you may be thinking, “Awesome, Kate…well, I’ll just hire you to do the writing for me! Problem solved!” Happy to help, but let’s take a step back first.

While I absolutely love helping people like you get their message into copy that converts, the truth is, whether you write it or I do, the copy won’t be as effective until YOU have nailed down your messaging.

That’s why no matter who is writing it, the first step is you making sure you know what your messaging is. That clarity helps make sure the copy gets it to come through loud and clear.

So what’s the best way to really get clear on what you’re trying to communicate to your people?

Ask yourself one simple question:

What exactly does my audience need to hear from me to make a decision about the action I want them to take?

In your messaging you’ve got to make a case for what you have to offer, my friend. Showing them that your methodology is the difference maker in getting the results they want.

But remember, it’s not just about getting people to say “yes,” either. Your job is to give them all the information they need to make the decision that’s right for them.

Bottom line, my friend: it doesn’t matter if you write your own copy or hire someone like me to do it for you, it’s essential your messaging is the starting point. It’s the first step in getting so clear on what you want to share with your people.

Because when you know exactly what you need to say to inspire your people to action, your copy will not only become more effective, but writing it will be a whole lot easier, too.

Looking for a way to get more clarity in your messaging and how to get that message to your people through your copy?
